2021 Video series from DC Wood Consulting

Between November 2020- January 2021, I created a series of Linked-In posts with 4 questions polls. These polls were a survey to find important topics to launch my new series of under-30-minute videos to rent. If you are interested, the videos may be found at https://douglas-c-wood.square.site/s/order . There are nine so far, listed under the ‘Video Learning’ category. To explain each video, a one to three minute ‘trailer’ has been embedded the video descriptions. I will be making more videos over the next few weeks. Look for them as they appear.

Why did I use the word ‘important’ in this survey? To gain a current view of what kinds of topics would be in demand. This does not merely focus on what is ‘needed,’ or on what is most widespread, but what topics are the most pertinent today.

Survey results

Here’s how the survey went: ten 4-answer polls were presented sequentially via Linked-In between November 2020 to January 2021. The posts were sent to 20-30 groups, plus my contacts. The 40 topics surveyed gained 6000 views with 330 votes, averaging 60 votes per day.

Here are some of my initial observations (‘Soft skills’ were mixed in to make sure a dimensions of quality culture were rated together with more technical quality management subjects):

  • A3 problem solving and 8D problem solving proved the ‘most important’, with Active Listening as number 3.

  • Lean, Six sigma, and ISO 9001 were perhaps predicable, but the old-fashioned P-D-C-A made the top cut as well.

  • Most surprising was ‘humility’ and ‘emotional intelligence’ edging into the top cut, above some of the others. Perhaps the inclusion of ‘humility’ as a leadership trait was what boosted that rating.

Thank you to all who participated in the polls. I could not have done this without all of your help.
